Holidays and shopping days

I haven't been very good at this blogging so far have I? It doesn't help that it takes me all day to make a post as my hands are full of baby. He is 12 weeks this weekend, it's flown by! I've also had a change of layout and made a new banner.

Over half term we went to see my sister for a few days. I really love seeing her and her family but I detest the distance. The journey down is never that bad,
it's the return that seems 3 times as long. It was so bad this time we didn't get home till really late and the kids had to have an extra day off school, I'm sure they didn't mind too much.

While I was there I went to a lovely little junk shop, I could have bought a lot more had we had more room in the car, they had loads of nice things. The car has plenty of space for people but a tiny weeny little boot. I immediately grabbed the enamel flour bin as soon as I saw it, especially when the man said it was £2! Unfortunately though before I had chance to pay he said he'd made a mistake and it was £5. Boo! I also saw a sewing box on legs and didn't get it but it played on my mind overnight so we went back to get it the next day. I had to take the legs off to make it fit in the car along with all our luggage. The legs were uneven anyway and I need to figure out how to make it balance. The screws haven't been moved so I'm guessing it was assembled wrongly in the first place. The bloke said he thought it was a bread bin. Do you get bread bins on legs? I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet, the varnish needs to come off as it's very flaky. I don't know if the roll top would be easy to paint. This weekend I decided I was off out shopping. I haven't had a good look around since well before Christmas, I couldn't walk very well towards the end of my pregnancy. I'd been putting off any big shopping trips since as I'd have to stop all the while for nappy changes and feeding but decided just to go for it and take my time. He was as good as gold and enjoyed looking at people from the sling. I bought some pillowcases, Cath Kidston hand cream, a tea cosy and some curtains which were only £3. I will make them into something else.
As a huge fan of stripy socks I was very excited by these. I always buy lots of the ones I really like so I have less chance of losing them plus they don't wear out as quickly. I also got myself a new top and 3 cat beds for the girls so maybe there will be more room for me on the sofa.
Just remembered I didn't take a pic of my bargain cake stand from Homebase.
